What this policy covers
Here we set out which personal data is handled by Car Jumpstart Pros, the reasons for it, who else sees it and how long it stays on record. It covers both this website and the call-outs themselves, however the booking reached us: a phone call, a WhatsApp chat or an email.
It is written with UAE data protection law in mind, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, which came into force on 2 January 2022. For the data described here, Car Jumpstart Pros decides what is collected and why, and is accountable for it.
What we collect
The data we handle falls into four groups.
- Booking details: your name, the mobile number we call back on, an email address if you want an invoice or warranty record sent, and the location of the vehicle, including any map pin you share.
- Vehicle details: make, model and year, plate or registration details where an invoice or warranty claim needs them, and a record of what the technician found and fitted.
- Payment details: when you pay by card, the payment provider processes the card on the technician's terminal. We see the amount and whether the payment succeeded. We do not store full card numbers.
- Website data: standard information a browser sends to any website, such as device type, approximate location from the IP address and the pages requested. Our hosting provider keeps this in server logs for security and reliability.
How this website handles data
The site has no login, no customer account and no newsletter sign-up, and it does not run advertising trackers.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visits come from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
The request form on the contact page works inside your own browser. It builds a message and opens WhatsApp so that you can send it yourself. Nothing you type there is saved on this website. Once you send the message, WhatsApp handles it under its own privacy terms and we receive it like any other chat.
Some pages show Google Maps to display the workshop and driving routes. When a map loads, Google receives technical data such as your IP address and may set its own cookies. Google's privacy policy governs that data, not this one.
If you tap a phone, WhatsApp or email link, your device opens the relevant app. We receive only what you then choose to send.
Why we use it
- To send a technician to the right place and complete the work you asked for. This is needed to perform our agreement with you.
- To issue invoices and keep the accounting records that UAE tax and commercial rules require. This is a legal obligation.
- To find the record of the part and the fitting date when you make a warranty claim. This is part of our agreement with you.
- To answer questions and keep a record of what was agreed. This is our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
- To send offers or service reminders, only where you have agreed to receive them. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
How long we keep it
Job and invoice records are kept for as long as the warranty on the work runs and for as long as UAE tax and commercial law requires records to be held. Messages that did not lead to a job are not kept longer than is needed to deal with them.
When data is no longer needed it is deleted or made anonymous.
How we protect it
Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it for dispatch, invoicing, warranty and customer care. This website is served over an encrypted connection.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will act on it and notify those affected and the regulator where the law requires.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in UAE law, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete data we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Restrict or stop a particular use of your data.
- Provide your data in a form that can be passed to another provider.
- Stop sending marketing messages, by withdrawing your consent.
Information we do not want
We have no reason to hold health, biometric, religious or similar sensitive information, so please do not send it. The service is intended for adult drivers and vehicle owners, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. The version published here is the one that applies.
Questions and requests
To use any of the rights above, or to ask how your data has been handled, get in touch through the contact page and say that your message is a data request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
